The Peeler (with handle) Item Number 1001 $49.95 | This roughing tool is quite versatile and can be used not only for roughing but for other aspects of turning as well. Great for roughing bowl blanks, sizing tenons, squaring the shoulder cuts to fit box lids, cutting into end grain, etc. |
The cutting edge is a replaceable carbide insert that has four cutting edges. You get the benefit of a very long-lasting sharp edge - four times over. The insert can be sharpened with a diamond hone or simply replaced. The shaft is 1/2" square steel and gives good support while turning. The 16" hard maple handles are individually hand turned, so there may be slight variations in the overall length of the tool.

For those who prefer to save a little money and turn their own handles, we have The Peeler without the handle. The 1/2" square steel shaft with blade is 12" long. The handle end has 4" turned to 1/2" diameter for easy insertion. | The Peeler (without handle) Item number 1002 $39.95 |
